With the objective of democratizing technology, 3D design technology company Autodesk has aligned itself with the Maharashtra government's vision to empower MSMEs in the state by providing them evolved design technology.

"India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and MSMEs have a huge role to play in the overall growth momentum," says Pradeep Nair, MD of Autodesk. "The Indian market presents a great opportunity for our company and we want to take our solutions to every industry that needs design technology for its growth."

Fusion 360 is a cloud-based product that can reduce the upfront cost of businesses, thereby enabling MSMEs - 2,00,000 of which are in Maharashtra itself - to create and innovate world-class products.

As part of the MoU with the Maharashtra government, Autodesk will train around 8,000 franchisees in the state on the optimum usage of Fusion 360 design platform. "We have also launched a customer showcase portal that will help promote the work of MSMEs who are deriving greater success using Fusion 360," says Nair. "We will also help them showcase their work at various national and international platforms," he said.

With Maharashtra on the way, Autodesk plans to extend the scheme to other states as well. "We are speaking to other state governments to roll out similar programs for local MSMEs," says Nair. "We hope to finalize potential partnerships in the coming months," he added
